☆☆ASUNA WIP☆☆

I managed to finish the vest-thingie☆☆☆☆  ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆ so happyy

close-up

I'm very pleased with the final result. I like the fabric choice and I like the fact I chose to do those red details from satin ribbon instead of normal cotton ribbon (which doesn't shine). The vest has a hidden zipper at the left side. though if I had to do this again i'd probably put the zipper at the back of the vest. Because now it's a bit hard to put on and if I had bigger head, I wouldn't be able to put it on...

Then I started to do the shoes and breast armor for Asuna. I still haven't finished them, but hopefully next week I'm able to do so.

I need to put the grey outlines to the armor and also color two crosses grey and attach them to the armor. I might also apply color to the armor itself to make it look not-so-soft XD This is the first armor I have ever made >__< the armor is made out of craft foam. I was happily surprised how easy it is to work with! I'm really looking forward to see how this ends up

For Asuna's shoes I used some old boots I had lying in my closet. I had once used them in a cosplay, but I hated them so bad. I completely failed to alter the shoes back then and they ended up looking horrible. The white paint was peeling off with every step and (╯ಊ╰) so horrible...

I cut the shoes and made the tip of the shoe a bit rounder. After that I made the pattern for the shoecovers. I pinned some fabric on top of the shoe and drew lines with pencil where the pins were.
First pin the random fabric and then draw the lines
Then you should end up with the patterns :)

Shoes when the shoecovers weren't attached and
the same shoes when I had sewn them and hot glued the bottom part.

Sword Art Online - Asuna WIP

Asuna Yuuki

It was at least six months ago (or even longer ago) when my boyfriend suggested that we should cosplay Asuna and Kirito from Sword Art Online. Back then I didn't know anything about SAO and I had to google those characters to know what they looked like. I wasn't that thrilled about their outfits, but I thought I could do it if I liked the anime (I can't cosplay a character if I don't know anything about it, which means I have to watch the anime or read the manga, the character is in, in order to cosplay it.) After I had watch couple episodes of SAO it was clear that my next cosplay was going to be Asuna. I loved the anime and  Asuna's personality (。♥‿♥。)
patterns in size 1:4
materials (thin red ribbon not in the picture)
I started with the red skirt, mainly because I already had the fabric for it. (I purchased all the other equipment later) The skirt was normal pleated skirt and I managed to get it done quite fast. The most time consuming thing in the skirt was to iron the pleats. But if I have to mention just one thing I have learned in sewing, it is that ironing makes everything look at least 10 times better (。・ω・。) so ironing is a must.

making pleats

Finished skirt !!

When the skirt was done I started doing the vest part ( I'm not sure if it's a vest put I shall call it that XD) Making a pattern for it was hard, I constantly changed it a little and in the end my patterns were all messy. But at least they worked!

Ah those messy patterns.

How it looked when I had sewn some red ribbon
(I looked too tired, therefore the duck. DUCKFACE)
All the thick red ribbon in, time for thin red ribbon
BTW it took overall 14 m of red ribbon
the outfit, how it looks and how it should look.
So that's everything I have done so far. next I'm going to make the shoes and armor and add details to the vest (●´∀`●)

SHINY PHONE ☆☆ きらきら (and cupcake)

I was so happy when the cellphone stickers I ordered finally came!  (☆^O^☆) I couldn't wait to give a new look for my cellphone

Ain't they pretty?
Before I started re-decorating my cellphone, it looked ugly... the old stickers had been there for an year and some  rhinestones were fallen off. And the rest of the rhinestones were worn out...  I also wanted to change the color of my phone from baby pink to violet.
Not-so-pretty
I ripped all the old cellphone stickers off and applied new cellphone stickers. It took me around two hours to make it because I mixed rhinestones from three different sticker-thingies which you can see at the beginning of the post. I also used some rhinestones from my old sticker-thingies I had  XD (I don't know how to describe it better)
poor little phone

gotta love the instructions
And phone's final look ^___^ I'm very pleased with it

At the end of the post I put a little cupcake  (⌒▽⌒)☆

WIP Yuzuki - Bunny-plushie

I used this picture above as a model for the bunniie

TADAH! I still don't have the fabric for yuzuki's hoodie, so instead of going to the fabric store to buy the fabric, I did Yuzuki's cutie bunnyplushie  (*´・v・) I wasn't suppose to do it at all, but for some reason I had all the fabrics I needed for it... so i ended up doing it XD

I'm not very good at making plushies, though I kinda like this one

FABRIIIC ^___^
scary face ヽ(゚Д゚)ノ
and then some ears..
then u add the body and it's done XD

Yuzuki Yukari WIP

Yuzuki Yukari, the cutie bunny vocaloid
(\__/)
(•ㅅ•)
I fell in love with Yuzuki's design when I first saw her and ever since I have wanted to cosplay her. I also really like her voice

I had bought fabric for her lavender-colored dress long before I actually started making her costume. I found really cheap fabric which was right color for her and I immediately bought it XD! So far this has been the cheapest cosplay I have ever made, but I still have to buy a wig and shoes and buy materials for her hoodie and over-the-knee socks and loudspeakers... so I still have to spend more money on her ╮(╯▽╰)╭

The patterns for this dress were really easy to make. ( I think i'll post a tutorial in case someone else is planning to do yuzuki  (*^▽^*) ) After I had cut all of the pieces they looked like that:

And those same pieces when I had sewn them together (and iron them !)
So it started to look like a dress \(@ ̄∇ ̄@)/ After the "base" was done I added the ruffles on the top and also the see-through fabric to the bottom of the dress. Before adding the see-through fabric I had already sewn hem to the bottom of the dress. Usually the hem is almost the last things u make, but I already knew it was the right length so I thought it would be easier to do now

Ruffles yaaii
How the dress looked with ruffles
Which one to choose?
Apparently I ended up with the upper one
(I thought it looked more like  in the picture)
When all these were done the only thing left was to sew the zipper and those darker lilac and black ribbons. and of course making and adding bows.

Ignore my weird looking legs X'DD

hurrrrr

(almost) finished dress  O(≧▽≦)O
I still need to put couple eyelets and some pearls at the bottom of the dress. but otherwise the dresspart is done and I can move on to the hoodie :3 (i wish I could have posted a picture of me wearing the finished dress, but I was too lazy to set timer and find decent place for the camera, lazy me ( ̄~ ̄;) )

My cosplay history☆ミ

Animecon 2009

(Luckily I have no picture's..)

This was my very first  Anime convention. I  wasn't cosplaying, but I was wearing lolita inspirated dress... which was horrible and didn't look like lolita at all \(////)\  But eventhough I looked just plain stupid, I was amazed by all the other cosplayers. And the atmosphere there was. It made me want to cosplay too.
And soon after Animecon I started to think which characters I want to cosplay and how I should make the costumes and which convention should I go next.

female-kakashi with failing wig..
Bakacon 2010

For some reason I decided to go to Bakacon and cosplay (female) kakashi-sensei  from Naruto. I hated the wig sosososo bad, but otherwise the costume was ok. Later I purchased a new wig and i was really happy with it  (^~^) The weather was really cold! It even snowed in the last day. But I really enjoyed the convention (even thought we FAILED so bad in the pokemon/digimon trivia XDD never again XDD) I think this is the funniest convention I have ever been (☆^O^☆)

Tracon 2010

Then there was Tracon. Another failing wig and uncomfortable costume. I don't even know why I chose this character.../(x~x)\ The stars in her hair must have blinded me XD

Metrocon 2011 (USA)

Kakashi with new improved wig!

I BELIEVE I CAN FLYY!!! XD
I really like all of those cute series so I wanted to make cardcaptor sakura. She's just way too adorable (and kero too!) :3 I also decided to wear kakashi, because I got the new wig for him/her not sure how to call it  I must say I liked the venue and the weather. SUNSHINE EVERYDAY !  ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆

Animecon 2011

Satsuki from kaichou wa maid-sama.

and sakura once again
This con was all about maids and sakuras. Me and my friends had a little Kaichou wa maid-sama group-cosplay. I was satsuki (the manager). On the second day we were all cosplaying Sakura's from different mangas/animes. I used my Cardcaptor Sakura outfit.

Tracon 2011

Luka and love-colored ward outfit. It was really nice to wear. And I bought the cutest hello kitty umbrella ever (as you can see in the picture) (─‿‿─)

Desucon 2012

And for desucon I finally made my dream-cosplay luka. This outfit it comfortable, but I couldn't sit in chair ('cause petticoat) I planning on wearing it again some day (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) ♫・*:.。. .。.:*・
On second day of desucon I was Luka again.. It was nurse-Luka (love-colored ward) though.
On third day I was in my superwarm totoro-kigurumi. My dream is to make a real totoro-cosplay, not kigurumi ... but we'll see if I ever do that

totorokigurumi
And about future cosplayplans I can say I make Yuzuki Yukari (vocaloid),  Asuna (SAO) and Luka Megurine (anti the infine Holic-outfit) for sure among all the other awesome cosplay's I want to make.  Hopefully I can shorten my cosplay-wishlist even more in the future (︶ω︶)
