HUUUGE PANTHEON GLAIVE WARRIOR WIP!!!!!!1!!1!!!! part 3/3

The last part of pantheon WIPs, LET'S GO!

HELMET

The Helmet was made from cardboard, expanding foam, wood filler, masking tape, craft foam, tiny bit of black fabric and paint. The base was made with tape and cardboard straight to  my bf's head. Then some additional cardboard was added so that the expanding foam was easier to add and later on cut to its shape.

When the expanding foam was added It looked funny :3

Then cutting happened and it started to look more wolflike

Then it was covered with masking tape

and wood filler was added and sanded when dry

First we put basic white base coat of paint and after it was dry we put a brown paint

Then we added some highlight with lighter color and shadows with darker color

After the basic head was done we used craft foam to make the front and back parts of the helmet

The back parts were curved using heat

Then the parts were painted using the same technique as painting the helmet itself

while attaching craft foam pieces together we found out that superglue works out better than hot glue and its much less messier.

A lot of pictures is missing but the black fabric was added to the front and the back parts were attached to each other with fabric also. The teeth were made out of paper mache and they were superglued on to the head. There is also a lining.

Anyways the finished product looks like this:

Next I'm gonna put a couple pictures of making the clothing and shoes. The shoes were made the same way as asunas shoes (link)

We used the picture below and Pantheons Lolking model as models and kinda mixed the best parts of the two to make the pantheon cosplay. for example we did the helmet by the lolking model and the shoes according to the other picture.

HUUUGE PANTHEON GLAIVE WARRIOR WIP!!!!!!1!!1!!!! part 2/3

First is up SPEAR.  Though I don't have much wip material from it, because It was made in a rush.. basically in two days. Therefore the painting is hideous and the surface is not smooth. But it looks quite impressive from far away, and we are planning to fix it... when we have time.. but for a while I'm going to focus on sewing clothes for me. so we'll see when it's fixed, if ever. But let's move to the main point.

The spear started with a blade. the blade was cut from plywood and it was attached to the broom handle with glue. Then some cardboard was attached with tape and on top of that we sprayed expanding foam. To make those spikes or whatever you can call them (see the picture above XD), we used a separate pieces of cardboard and sprayed then with expanding foam. and then we added them to the main part with hot glue when everything was curved.
The thicker part on the bottom was made with camping mattress and with a lot of glue. It could have been made with expanding foam also, but we were out of expanding foam and in a hurry, so we decided to work with matress.
Half of the shark/wolf cut, half to be cut.
we covered the wolfshark with masking tape before adding wood filler. at this point clock was something like 6 am and we had to leave at 6 pm to the convention...
With a little sleep we managed to sand it and paint before we had to leave. And it looked something like this:

Though the result could have been a lot better, I was just happy to be able to finish it, and hopefully we can fix all the things before next convention.

Then there is armor. I don't really fancy it. the surface is not smooth. and you unfortunately can see it. But who cares, Let's put it here anyway!

The armor is made with camping mattress and craft foam. It has been bend to the right shape with heat and then glued some details and painted. The chest armor has velcro on the left side and the knee and hand armors have elastic band, so they can be put on and off with those.

so this is how we made the weapon and the armor. stay toon for part 3 which is all about helmet/boots/clothes.

HUUUGE PANTHEON GLAIVE WARRIOR WIP!!!!!!1!!1!!!! part 1/3

so glorious title, but huge props need huge title XD

so my bf wanted to cosplay as pantheon from League of Legends. and he specifically wanted pantheons most detailed glaive warrior skin. and he also decided to choose champion with biggest props, enormous shield, spear and helmet. at this post I'm going to talk about the biggest part of the cosplay: SHIELD. so Let's not waste any time with this nonsense and let's get to the WIP material!!

In the beginning there was this cardboard.
Then we cut some slices out of it, to make it more 3D. A lot of duct tape was used during the progress. Also hot glue to make it more durable.

Then we added couple cans of expanding foam. and let it dry. The foam dries quite quickly and it's light, so for a huge prop like this it was perfect material. It's also affordable.

When it was completely dry, we (meaning I) started to cut the edges with box cutter to give it appropriate shape. After that we applied some more expanding foam to the middle for the wolf and cut the shape when it was dry.
Cut, cut, cut
OOOO! It's doneee~

It would have been wiser to attach the handle to the backside before applying more expanding foam to the front, But it worked like this also :D the handle it screwed from the front side, so we had to cut a little from the wolf on the frontside before we could attach the hadle... lalala There is also glue to make it more durable
Then we added even more expanding foam (I don't even know how many cans we used in total) and cut it when it was dry.

Then we feed the shield a little bit of newspaper and wallpaper paste.

Then some wall filler was added..
I mean a lot of wall filler...

Before painting the wall filler was sanded and all of the "battle scars" were cut to the shield.
a couple details ...
AND FINISHED!

This WIP probably made it look like this would take only a while to get done, but trust me it isn't as fast to make as it seems. Cutting expanding foam to the desired shape takes forever! and almost all materials we used takes several hours to dry, so if you want to make big props make sure you have time.

Next is up spear and some armor. stay toon for HUUUGE PANTHEON GLAIVE WARRIOR WIP!!!!!!1!!1!!!! part 2/3
